The 13th biennial Footwear Biomechanics Group symposium will be held as a satellite event to the 26th ISB Congress, being held just up the road in Brisbane, Australia. Griffith University has a long association with the Footwear Biomechanics Group and cordially invites world-wide colleagues to share state-of-the-art knowledge in footwear biomechanics and its applications.
The Location

The Mantra-on-View has recently been refurbished and has an enviable location within easy walking distance to the beach, Cavill Avenue shopping and the entertainment district. Blending first class service with inspired facilities, the Mantra-on-View is perfect for a unique Symposium experience.
Getting There
By Air: Gold Coast is well-serviced by air through Gold Coast airport at Coolangatta (23 km from the venue) and offers direct flights to several Asian and New Zealand cities. There are several airport shuttle companies that offer door-to-door service. Brisbane airport (1 hour by car, 1.5 hrs by train) is the primary international airport serving Brisbane and South East Queensland and services 26 airlines flying to 28 international destinations in the Asia-Pacific region. Most major cities in Europe and North America can be reached with one stop-over. Use either door-to-door shuttle or the Gold Coast Train, getting off at Nerang station and catch 704 bus to Cypress Ave (300m from hotel)).
By car: Coming from North (Brisbane) take the Pacific Motorway (M1) to Smith St. (Exit 66). After 10km turn right at the Gold Coast Highway and follow this south, turn right onto Cypress Ave (4km), then right into Surfers Paradise Blvd (150m), then left into View Ave (150m). From South and Gold Coast airport, follow Gold Coast Hwy (19 km), turn right into Cypress Ave.
Social Events
A welcome reception will be held Thursday evening at the hotel consisting of canapes and drinks (included in registration). A Conference dinner and Awards evening will be held Saturday evening. Additional tickets are available for guests. Friday evening is free to sample the myriad of entertainment opportunities on the Gold Coast.
